Kendra Smith, NCC, LPC Associate
Kendra earned her masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UTSA and is a San Antonio native. She believes that all people go through seasons of life that are particularly difficult to navigate on their own. Whether it's common life stressors, depression, grief, anxiety, trauma, or any other challenge, she wants to help you manage and cope. She uses quite a few grounding techniques and focuses on teaching you skills to use through life to improve your mental wellness and prioritizes effective communication between couples and families. Kendra takes a truly collaborative approach and hopes that you will feel empowered to have a voice in your care.
Making a counseling appointment can be a really daunting decision and anxiety provoking; she strives to be personable and help all clients feel at ease when they're in her office. A session with Kendra will likely look conversational while you get comfortable with each other. She places a lot of emphasis on things that are important to you and incorporates it in your time together. She offers faith-based counseling upon request. Kendra views her office as a place for all and is confident that the two of you can work towards achieving the goals that you have for yourself. Kendra sees children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Her approaches include Client-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and mindfulness. Kendra in her free time enjoys a good Marvel Comic movie so much so she named one of her dogs Marvel. Kendra also enjoys playing with her dogs and spending time with her family. Kendra is supervised by Elizabeth Oldham LPC-S and Aimee Rhodes, LPC-S |
