Behind the Scenes:Shakelia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading. She loves to cook and come up with new recipes and introducing my grandkids to different foods.

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. MY NAME IS.....Shakelia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Columbia College of Missouri. She is currently attending Our Lady of the Lake University obtaining her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Shakelia has experience working in the foster care system as a Clinical Director, where she provided and supervised training and various mental health support services to the children, families, sex and human trafficking victims and survivors, and staff. She also served in the Army for 8 years, working with suicide prevention and with service members and families as an advocate against domestic violence and sexual assault.
She is trauma informed and has worked with people from all walks of life. She currently works with veterans helping them heal from the past and military traumas they struggle with day-to-day. She adopts the multicultural and holistic approaches when working with clients. She is interested in mastering and utilizing cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral approaches as well as play therapy. Shakelia is supervised by Aimee Rhodes, LPC-S Counseling Goals and Interests
